Blogger of the Week : Monalisha Mahapatra

The immense love and support from you ‘Creative Heads’ have been surreal over the past few years. Inspiro India wishes to grow with the growing population of ‘#inspiroindia‘. We’re continuously working to bring great content to anyone and everyone following us on various platforms.

This February we present to you, an all new feature presenting ‘The Blogger of the Week’.

The GreyHalfway is an exquisite blog run by Monalisha Mahapatra who is a Fashion, Travel and Luxury Blogger and Stylist based in Delhi. A fun loving person and chirpy around her friends which is hard to make out when you first look at her ‘numb looking’ pictures, she says. Monalisha blogs about fashion, travel and luxury lifestyle which is true to her personality and distinguishes her from the others.

She defines her style to be comfortable and yet poised. Her pictures are a delight to look at as she takes her inspiration from art. The GreyHalfway started in August of 2015 when she just wanted to upload her pictures from photography and modelling on a website.

(As delightful as her pictures are to look at, we couldn’t help but wonder about the story behind her blog name!) Ms Mahapatra came up with the name when she was working for a fashion brand. A random search for cable knit sweaters and grey mufflers on Pinterest led her to be fascinated by the colour ‘Grey’. She randomly came up with the name ‘GreyHalfway’ which was then bought by her friend. A consequent squabble between them barred her from using the name for her website.

Since Monalisha was so intrigued by the colour Grey, she came up with the idea of adding ‘The’ in her blog name hence ‘The GreyHalfway’ was born!

TheGreyHalfway is a hit among 18-24-year-olds and is spread all over the world. Monalisha uses Canon Mark III for her pictures. The washed out grey effect to her pictures is how she abides by her blog name and not to forget her love for the colour grey.

She’d like to point out to how her blog and even other female bloggers often come across people who text her for personal contact and gains. Monalisha says she finds it creepy and offensive when she gets direct messages and even pictures on Instagram, Snapchat and Emails from people. She’d like the readers to know that her blog is her full-time profession and people should stop contacting her for personal interests.

Regular content posting and individual personality are the tips she’d like to give to someone who’d want to start blogging. Copying others is a strict no-no.
